The month of March saw Language Magnet catapulted onto the big stage as we made our debut at The Education Show 2017 and were also shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Education Resources Awards 2017. Being unique and cutting edge we drew considerable press attention in publications such as Education Business Magazine, Headteacher Update and The Education Show Preview Guide.
The 3 day Education Show at the NEC drew in over 7,500 visitors from all over the country and was an exciting event for launching the Language Magnet brand. We talked to so many senior leadership and classroom teachers, who were really impressed by the unique Language Magnet course, with its fun artwork, engaging activities and easy-to-use lesson plans and assessments, and they were also delighted that full support and coaching was available for non-specialist teachers. The most common comment was that their teachers were teaching a foreign language but they were “struggling”. So many identified with the need for good quality, personalised coaching for their teachers and that is exactly what Language Magnet offers.
To be at The Education Show was a fantastic experience in its own right but to also be attending the Education Resources Awards gala dinner as a finalist on the Friday evening was out of this world. Glitz, glamour and glory sum up the amazing experience of the awards night. Language Magnet was in the Start-up Business of the Year category, which was a fantastic achievement after becoming a limited company only 9 months previously. Although we did not win the award, which went to the brilliant Study Tracks, a well deserving winner, we were delighted to be up there with the best. The comments from the 16 top educationalist judges were that this year had seen the highest number of entrants for the awards in its history and that the level of products and services was extremely high, so to be a finalist was a fantastic achievement indeed.
So here’s to the next chapter for Language Magnet! Cheers!
