Children's Online French and Spanish Tuition
What is Language Tuition?
Language Magnet provides personalised, friendly and fun one-to-one French and Spanish language tuition delivered online by Diana, a qualified foreign language teacher who specialises in primary foreign language learning and is fully DBS checked.
Learn to speak, read, write and listen to French or Spanish with Language Magnet's fun, interactive sessions that are structured specifically for children, aged 7 up to 14.
Receive unique Language Magnet activity sheets and resources for continued learning between sessions. Strong foreign language development is most sustained when children use the language for as little as 10 to 15 minutes every day.
Build a life long enjoyment of French or Spanish, making it easier to access secondary school language learning and qualifications.
How does online Language Tuition work?
The online language tuition is provided using the Zoom video conferencing platform. You do not need an account with Zoom to have sessions online but you will be prompted to download the free software once you click on the link that will be provided after booking a session.
Your child will be able to see the tutor and the tutor will need to see your child. Sessions will never be recorded and no third party will have access to the individual sessions. Parents or guardians may sit in on the sessions if that is appropriate for your child.
How do I book Language Tuition for my child?
To book an online French or Spanish tuition session, click on the Book Online button from the menu bar and select the Children's Language Tuition option. Click on the Children's French and Spanish Tuition button and choose the day and the time from the available slots. Once you have booked your slot you will be able to pay using the Paypal button.
You will receive confirmation of your booking and a link to the meeting.
How do I get the best results from online Language Tuition for my child?
Your child will need to be at the computer and click on the meeting link at the arranged time. Your child should have the necessary microphone equipment to both hear and speak over the internet. If your computer has a built-in microphone, make sure this is switched on. Ensure your child has a quiet environment in which to engage in the session and minimise distractions, pets and noise from other people where possible.
The online sessions involve sharing the tutor's screen so that your child can see powerpoint presentations and activities. Your child will also receive activity sheets and resource cards from time to time, which will need to be printed out before the sessions. You will be sent the necessary downloads to the email address you provide.
Your child's progress will be assessed and monitored as they follow the Language Magnet programme and parents or guardians will receive a copy of their progress, which will be sent to the email address you provide.
Conduct and Behaviour
You are responsible for your child's conduct during each session and the teacher reserves the right to terminate a session if your child fails to comply with a request to cease any inappropriate behaviour.
"We came across Diana at Language Magnet about two years ago. My Daughter Chloe originally started doing face to face lessons which became increasingly difficult due to our busy schedules. Since Diana has launched Language Magnet on the zoom platform it has made life so much easier and Chloe is now enjoying learning Spanish from home. Chloe now has a lesson every week, due to this her Spanish has really developed. Thanks to Language Magnet I will be sending my daughter to secondary school with a good understanding of a second language." Tom H, West Midlands
